Strategic Partnership to Provide Identity Protection Technology to Canada

September 16th, 2009

Validus Technologies Corporation (Validus) and ValidCard Canada Corporation (ValidCard Canada) are pleased to announce that they have entered into a strategic partnership to provide access to Validus’ unique product line in Canada. These authentication products are leading edge technologies that will form a front line of defence against fraud and identity theft.

Validus designs and manufactures the patented VALIDcard™, a strong authentication solution that combines OTP (One Time Password) and fingerprint biometrics within the convenience of a card form factor. When a registered user swipes their finger over the SmartFinger® technology1 embedded in the VALIDcard™ an OTP is generated and displayed on the card. Validus is underway in developing its next generation Version 3.0 that will transmit the OTP via contact and contact-less Smart Card technology making it one of the most interoperable biometric solutions in the market. Validus is also a leader in providing OTPs via SMS to any mobile phone worldwide to authenticate users attempting to gain access to various types of networks.

Identity theft is defined by the RCMP as one of the fastest growing crimes in North America. It is quick and devastating and can leave a long lasting effect on people’s lives. One in four Canadians have been a victim of one sort of identity theft or another. Introducing Validus’ OTP authentication product line to Canada is in direct response to this growing threat.

“We are pleased to enter into this strategic partnership with ValidCard Canada, it provides Validus with a significant reach into the Canadian marketplace to create a higher standard of security and authentication” said Travis McGregor, CEO of Validus.

Validus has incorporated into the VALIDcard™ SmartFinger® technology through their partnership with IDEX. This gives the VALIDcard™ unparalleled security that accounts for a person’s everyday lifestyle. The vertical markets that this will have a significant impact on are Governments at all levels, the financial industry, corporate enterprise and insurance, to name a few. The VALIDcard™ can address these markets which have a potential volume of 10 billion cards worldwide.

“This partnership with Validus gives us the ability to provide a product that is a direct response to the identity theft and fraud industry. It will give Canadians the ability to conduct their transactions safely and securely. It also provides institutions a means to recoup losses due to identity theft and fraud” said Dwight Cole, CEO of ValidCard Canada.

This license agreement is comprised of volume based royalties for select Validus products.

UK PINless Phone Cards

September 16th, 2009

pinless phone card

Nobelcom UK phone cards come with 3 great features, to increase usability: Automatic Refill, PINless Dialing and Print Pocket Card.

Nobelcom.co.uk phone cards now come with great features, to make them even easier to use. The Automatic Refill option allows anyone to activate an automatic refill of their card, when a certain balance limit is reached. This option is useful and convenient as it keeps customers form running out of credit right in the middle of an important phone call.

The PINless dialing option is the feature that’s probably saving its customers the most time. To activate PINless dialing, one can register up to 6 numbers in the Nobelcom.co.uk online account. After this, every call made from one of the registered numbers will be connected, without the customer being asked to enter the PIN code. The PINless dialing option is both easy and convenient to use, as this saves time on dialing and keeps users from having to remember a 10-digit PIN code.

If users decide not to register any numbers with PINless dialing, there is a way to have the PIN all the time. The Print Pocket Card feature allows any Nobelcom.co.uk user to print a pocket card (it’s called this way because it is the size of a regular credit card). On this card, customers will have, in print: up to three PIN numbers (for the phone cards most often used) and up to three Access Numbers, be they Local Access Numbers or Freephone. Keeping it in a safe place, like a wallet, the customer will have it close at hand whenever they need to make an international or domestic call.

Thailand Online Store

September 16th, 2009

Invadeit.co.th has opened it’s doors to the public in Thailand. The webshop is owned and run by a team of computer experts from Europe as well as Thailand.

During the last 10 years online shops have taken over more than 90% of the computer sales in Europe and USA, but that is still far from the case in Thailand. In Thailand there are several reasons why online sales have not yet grown to be so popular as it is elsewhere. The main reason is that still a relatively small part of the population has access to the internet, another reason is that there are still some trust issues with paying online. However the broadband is rapidly becoming more and more common, so the market grows steadily every day.

Behind invadeIT is two computer experts from Denmark and a team of local staff. Together they bring a versatile spectrum of experience such as software engineering, retail store management, web development, computer technician, eCommerce development and more.

There are already numerous computer webshops available in Thailand. However the people behind invadeIT are certain that they can take on the competitors. “There are many computer webshops out there, but very few of them look like a place I would actually like to purchase anything from” explains Thomas Skyum – CTO of invadeIT, and continues: “Of course there are cultural differences, and it’s a matter of individual taste but the webshops I used to buy from in Europe all looked very professional and invited me to shop from them. We hope to be able to appear as a shop like that. However we have a challenge on hand since we aim both at expats and locals, so our design must appeal to both groups.” The webshop has undergone extensive user experience testing using both expats and Thai nationals, and changes have been made to accommodate the needs for both groups.

www.invadeit.co.th is available in both English and Thai, and unlike most other sites that claim to be the same All content is actually translated and when you use the site in English you will not see a single word in Thai.

invadeIT works together with all the major distributors in Thailand, and can therefore offer all major brands for sale in the shop. If the product you are looking for is not to be found on the site invadeIT encourages you to contact them so they can assist you, “We stride towards being able to deliver All products within the field of computers, if you have a special request we will do what it takes to be able to get a hold of the desired product.” says Christian Bjerrum Hansen – COO of invadeIT.
